Meet the Curator Behind the Collection
Linda Banaszak, owner of Caravan Gallery in La Conner, has had a lifelong love of cultural travel. Her early service in the United States Peace Corps sparked a deep appreciation for indigenous art, traditional crafts, and the personal stories of the artisans who create them.
Now celebrating over 25 years in business, Caravan Gallery reflects Linda’s most recent journeys and her careful, personal selection of every piece. The gallery’s new website is a modern extension of her collections, something customers have long been waiting for. Imports span from the African continent to remote corners of Southeast Asia, resulting in an eclectic mix of handcrafts, textiles, and jewelry that creates a vibrant cultural tapestry. By buying directly from artisans, Linda helps build lasting relationships and supports the continuation of their ethnic and artistic heritage.
Linda is grateful to have nurtured a business rooted in her love of travel and her search for beautifully handcrafted objects. “I admire the world travelers I’ve met who are quiet adventurers, those who move gently through the world, honoring the people and cultures they encounter,” she says.
